Janette L. "Jan" Loersch
Loersch, Janette "Jan" L. Janette (Jan) Louise Loersch, age 76, of Sheboygan Falls, died in her home with her family and the caring staff of Prairie Crossing beside her on Oct. 12th 2016. She was born Oct. 14th 1939, in Escanaba, MI to Robert and Loraine Atwood. She graduated from Gays Mills High School as Valedictorian and continued to pursue her education at UW-Madison in the area of Home Economics. Jan was married to Larry Lauver for several years until which time she became a devoted single parent. On May 14th 1982, Jan married her best friend and loving husband James (Jim) Allen Loersch. Together they enjoyed building a full and faith based life in New Berlin, Manitowoc and Sheboygan Falls. Jan was a dedicated employee for the US Army Corp, the LM Berry Yellow Pages and Avon. She had an inquisitive mind that nurtured many volunteer experiences and hobbies. Among them included: home improvement projects, carpentry, gardening, crafts, travel and collecting snow village. She volunteered for over 20 years with the Literacy Council of Manitowoc, was an active member of the church, participating in prayer chains, bible studies, choir and musical performances. Her most favored activities involved those with her grandchildren. She was a proud, and loving "Nana" to them and a courageous, strong and independent mother to her daughter Loraine (Lori). She is survived by her husband, Jim Loersch; daughter, Lori (Thomas)Lauver-Tobin; grandchildren, Tori Louise and Charles (Charlie) James Tobin; her sister Lynn (Gardner) Gray. Jan is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Atwood and Elizabeth Johnson and her great niece Noelle Atwood. A memorial service for Jan will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. at the Community Room at Pine Haven Christian Home, (Haven Dr. Campus) 220 Haven Dr, Sheboygan Falls. Pastor Susan Gall of Faith United Methodist Church of Sheboygan Falls will be officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be in the Community Room from 12:30p.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Jan's name. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at Prairie Crossing and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
