ELGIN - Janet (Van Cleve) Rhodes/Vincent/ Cordelane, 79, passed away on Thursday, January 12th, 2017. Born in Kewanee, Illinois on June 20th, 1937, she was the daughter of Samuel Edgar and Doris Darlene (Cole) Van Cleve. Janet was raised in Elgin, Illinois by her mother and stepfather, Raymond Tienpondt, where she attended Elgin High School. Her very strong work ethic was always an example to her 5 children. After retirement, Janet enjoyed attending Elgin's Senior Services' many events, playing BINGO, bowling with a team of friends in Westchester, Ill., attending plays at the Fireside Theater among others, annual vacations to Wisconsin with friends and traveling with the Triumph Bank Travel Club, which took her as far as China. She is survived by her Sister, Rosalie (Tienpondt) Sweeton, her 5 children, Danny Rhodes (FL), Jerry Rhodes, Tammy (Rhodes) Shears, Cindy (Vincent) Stike (OH), and Vickie (Vincent) Naida (IN), her 10 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents and stepfather, her infant brother, Marvin Van Cleve, and her husband James Cordelane. The family will hold a viewing at 10am-11:30, on Saturday, January 14th, at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home at 17w201 Roosevelt Rd., Oakbrook Terrace, immediately followed by a brief memorial and a graveside service at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery.
