ABOHASEN, JANET PAIZ, aged 72, died peacefully on October 15, 2016 at St. Anne's Nursing Center, after a 2 year struggle with cancer. Janet was born February 18, 1944, in Granada, Nicaragua, the daughter of Dr. Jos P iz Jarqu¡n and Abigail (Mimi) Barquero Altamirano. In 1963, Janet married the love of her life, Alfredo Abohasen Nahra, and upon their union, they began expanding their family to have five children. In 1983, they moved permanently to Miami. In addition to raising their five children she was also very involved with the Catholic Church and the many ministries therein, including but not limited to Eucharistic Minister, Lector, Marriage Annulment Counselor, apostle of the Pierced Hearts of Jesus and Mary, Charismatic Renovation, as well as with Radio Peace, the Center for Peace, and various others. Janet leaves behind her husband of 53 years, Alfredo, four daughters and a son; Desire Abohasen (Ricardo Zeledon), Janet Galdamez (Edwin Galdamez), Claudia Cancio (Pedro Cancio), Patricia Rojas (Bernardo Rojas), and Nemer Abohasen (Vanessa Souza), as well as ten grandchildren: Roberto, Eduardo and Elaine Galdamez, Melissa and Peter Cancio, Matthew and Bryan Rojas, and Isabella, John and Jacob Abohasen. She is also survived by her three siblings; Eliette P iz (Fernando Duarte), Jos P iz (Melba Ortega) and Gretchen P iz (Edgar S enz), as well as a numerous extended family and very dear friends. There will be a viewing today Monday, October 17th at Caballero Rivero Woodlawn Park South located at 11655 SW 117th Ave, Miami, FL 33186, telephone # (305) 238-3672, from 6-11p.m., followed by a mass on Tuesday, October 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church located at 11291 SW 142nd Ave, Miami, FL 33186 and the burial services at Caballero Rivero at 12p.m.
