Jane Stephens Pease Born to Ed and Mary Stephens on June 17, 1938, Jane was the eldest of five children who grew up in Seattle's Maple Leaf neighborhood. After graduating from Holy Names Academy, she attended Seattle University and began work in the family grocery business. An avid snow and water skier, she courted her future husband Fred Pease on the slopes of Stevens Pass and they were married in April of 1961. Together they had six children and moved to Vashon Island in 1976 where she worked at K-2 and became well known as a generous and gracious hostess who welcomed everyone to share the joy of the holidays at Christmas and pursue all manner of water sports in the summertime. Jane died at home on September 13, 2016, and a funeral mass was held at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Fred and children Mary Johnson, Geof Pease, Sarah Pruett, Elizabeth Bruscato, James Pease and Emily Pease. Her siblings include Tom Stephens, Ed Stephens, Greg Stephens and Clare van Amerongen.
