Jane Wiggins Eckert Mason Jane Wiggins Eckert passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2017, after a short illness. She was born Aug. 20, 1932, in Waco, Texas to Oscar Boardman and Cecile Allison Wiggins who preceded her in death along with her brother, Billy Wiggins. She graduated from Christian College in Columbia, Missouri in 1951, and from The University of Texas at Austin in 1954, and was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority. She met John Carlton "Corky" Eckert at a UT vs A&M football game and they married in Nov. 1954. The house remained divided for the next 59 years of marriage at their home in Mason, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2014. She loved her friends, life in the Texas Hill Country, tennis, being a part of her family's world, and her involvement with Corky in the livestock industry. She especially enjoyed being the first of three generations of her immediate family to attend and appreciate the beauty of Camp Waldemar. She is survived by her son, J Carlton Eckert, Jr. of Ennis, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Billy Yeary, of Lampasas, Texas; granddaughters, Caley Ann Yeary, of Austin, Texas and Carey Allison Yeary, of Dallas, Texas as well as Jake Brown and Zac Brown; nieces and nephew Laurie Eckert Johnson, Sun City, Arizona, Pam Eckert Fish, Seattle, Washington and Tom Eckert, Pocatello, Idaho. A Celebration of Life will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Mason on Friday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m. with visitation immediately following in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to The Mason Tennis Association at PO Box 865, Mason, Texas 76856 or the charity of your choice.
