James Ben Ybarra
James Ben Ybarra Resident of Santa Clara Born in San Jose in 1929, raised by Max and Maria Ybarra, with his sisters Emily and Gloria, and four brothers; Robert, Joe, Al and Vic. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Ybarra. They were married for 53 years, where they lived in Santa Clara. Their surviving children are Dennis (Sandra), Denise (Jim), Daniel (Maggie), and Diane of Maui, He was preceded in death by his beloved twins, David and Doreen. Ben was deeply devoted to his twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Ben served in the Naval Reserve and the Air Force. He was a retired Civil Engineer from the City of Santa Clara. He will be remembered as a cherished husband, father, brother, uncle, grandparent, co-worker, friend and neighbor. He belonged to St. Clare Parish where he was active in the Dad's Club, and served as church usher. He also participated in the ICF, Volunteer Firemen, Elks #2347, American Legion, and Mustang Club. Rosary and viewing will be held Monday, October 17th at 7 p.m., at Lima Family Santa Clara, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. Funeral services will commence Tuesday, October 18th, 11:00 a.m., at St. Clare's Church. Burial to follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery.
