James Robert Trihy
James Robert Trihy • Denver, CO / Naples, FL James Robert Trihy, formerly of Stowe, VT, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side at the Denver Hospice on October 11, 2016. He succumbed to pancreatic cancer at the age of 79. He was born September 14, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, to parents John and Beatrice (Bokus) Trihy. He attended Amityville High School, and served in the Army Reserve. Jim owned and operated an insurance agency and developed industrial property and residential lots. He was one of the founders of Oyster Bay Youth Hockey Club, coaching high school hockey in Long Island, NY. He served and actively participated on numerous Boards. A gifted athlete, Jim excelled at skiing and tennis. Hockey was a lifelong passion. He enjoyed sailing, biking, hiking and traveling. Jim is survived by his wife Carol Decker Trihy, daughter Colleen and husband Michael Kaiser of Evergreen, CO, son Robert and wife Susan Trihy of Springfield, MO, daughter Kristine and husband Robert Sinko of Snowmass, CO, son Kevin of Lakewood, CO, son Michael Trihy and partner Cecily Fuller of Denver, CO, and grandchildren Elizabeth Kaiser, Alex Kaiser, Danielle Sinko and Delaney Sinko. A private memorial service was held for the family.
