James J. SUTCH Jr.
SUTCH Jr., James J. 87, of St. Petersburg, FL, formerly of Allentown, PA, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Florida. James was the husband of Jane C. (Bethmann) Sutch since 2001, and the late Rose Marie (Ardle) Sutch for 45 years prior to her passing in 1996. Born in Allentown, PA, he was a son of the late James J. and Helen (Lawrence) Sutch Sr. James worked in the automotive and carpeting departments at Sears Roebuck & Company in Whitehall, PA prior to his retiring to Florida in 1978. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, St. Petersburg. James was an avid sailor, and a talented carpenter and woodworker. His passion was rebuilding, owning, and driving sports cars and antique cars. He won many trophies and awards for his work. He was the former president and longtime member of the PIN-MAR Antique Car Club. He volunteered many years as a docent at the restored Heritage Village in Largo, FL, and volunteered for the local hospice in St. Petersburg. He was a private pilot and was a past volunteer as a Search and Rescue Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol. Surviving with his wife, Jane; are his son, James M. and wife, Vicki of Seminole, FL; daughters, Valerie, wife of Larry Audibert of Pikeville, NC, and Lee Ann, wife of Glenn W. Baumer of Center Valley, PA; his brother, Richard of St. Petersburg, FL; sisters, Catherine, wife of Jay Lutte of Allentown, PA, and Dolores Castelluccio in Texas. James has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Daniel J. Sutch. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James' memory to St. John Vianney School, 210 N. 18th St. Allentown, PA 18104.
