In memory of
James P. Sunzeri
James P Sunzeri Feb. 27, 1953 - Oct. 16, 2016 Resident of Santa Cruz James P. Sunzeri passed away on October 16, 2016 at his home in Santa Cruz. He was 63. Born in San Jose, CA on February 27, 1953, the son of Peter J. Sunzeri and Dorothy (Tomasello) Sunzeri. Jim grew up in San Jose and was a graduate of Leigh High School, Class of 1972. Jim followed the footsteps of his father and joined him in the family business, Pete Sunzeri Plumbing where he worked along side his father and brother for many years. Jim lived much of his life in San Jose before moving to Santa Cruz in the early 1990's. Jim had a special charm and possessed a warm and engaging personality. It was not uncommon following the completion of a service call that Jim was getting and receiving hugs from his customers. He was deeply emotional, lived with an open heart and had an enormous capacity to love. Jim loved his family but was especially fond of his children and grandchildren. In his younger years, Jim enjoyed riding dirt bikes and was known to be able to ride a wheelie for a mile. He was a skilled mechanic and also enjoyed fishing. He attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of the Italian Catholic Federation and the Marconi Club. Jim leaves his loving companion of 19 years, Allyson Jacobs; his four children, Sarah Sobek, Lucas Sunzeri, Brooke Murphy and Alyssa Sunzeri; his mother, Dorothy Sunzeri; brothers and sisters, Eileen Sunzeri, Salvador Sunzeri, Janice Sunzeri, Peter Sunzeri, Michael Sunzeri and Martin Sunzeri; two step children, Jared Jacobs and Joseph Jacobs. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Peter J. Sunzeri.
