James Shilling
James Michael Shilling passed from this life on January 3, 2017. He was born on March 31, 1948 in Center, Texas. He resided in Pasadena, Shore Acres and Bayou Vista, TX. He was known to most as Mike Shilling and was employed with Shell Chemical in Deer Park for 40 years in their Instrumentation Department. He was a Senior Control Systems Inspector at the time of his retirement. He enjoyed living by the water, saltwater fishing, floating the Frio with family and friends, listening to the music of John Prine, Willie Nelson and Billie Joe Shaver while playing pool and drinking "Miller Lite". He was extremely artistic, loved to draw etchings and could paint anything he wanted with a free hand. He enjoyed woodworking, sculpting, creating stained glass and mosaic art work. He was an extremely intelligent man, a great listener and a fabulous mentor to anyone who wanted or needed his solid advice, including family, friends or a complete stranger. He always kept the most positive attitude in all aspects of life and was never negative about anything that crossed his path. He enjoyed living his life and had the most infectious laugh that all who knew him will never forget. He is preceded in death by parents, Homer and Dorothy Shilling, sister, Dianne Shilling; brother, Charles Shilling, and step-son, Bradley Dellinger.
