James Brian Parker, 58, Omaha, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8, 2017, at his home. James was born Oct. 27, 1958, in Creston, the son of Gail "Bud" and Mildred (McKee) Parker. He was raised in Villisca, graduating with the class of 1977. He attended Iowa Western Community College and later graduated from University of Northern Iowa in 1983. Over the years, Jim worked at Crows Seed Company, Mildred Parker Insurance, and most recently sold real estate in Omaha. Jim enjoyed music, horse racing, fishing, his dogs, and family get-togethers. Preceding him in death were his parents. Survivors include his siblings, Ross Parker (Jo) of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.; Julia Anderson of Atlantic; and Mark Parker (Teresa) of Parsons, Kan.; nephews and nieces, Jeff Anderson (Tarah) of Atlantic; Jacob Anderson (Stephanie) of Eskisehir, Turkey; Joshua Anderson (Taryn) of Montezuma; Sarah Parker and Alex Parker of Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.; Matt Knox (Katie) and Caleb Parker (Dayane) of Kansas City, Mo.; and Katy Parker of Parsons; great-nieces and -nephews, Madelyn and Colton Anderson of Atlantic; Luke and Abigail Anderson of Eskisehir, Turkey; Ava, Knox, Tenley, and Krew Anderson of Montezuma; Taylor, Tanner, Lane, and Madelyn Knox of Kansas City; and Shiloh Herold of Parsons; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of life service was held Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at the Villisca Presbyterian Church in Villisca. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Red Oak.
