James A. Marsh
James "Jim" Allen Marsh, 68, died Friday, Feb. 3, in North Augusta, S.C., after a long battle with cancer. He was born the second son of Jesse R. Marsh and Lillian V. (Boring) Marsh on Feb. 29, 1948, at home, a small three-room house in Torrance. Formerly of Blairsville, Jim was a 1966 graduate of Derry Area High School and retired from Torrance State Hospital. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, AnnaMary "Manny" (Franklin) Marsh, and his brother, Dennis Wayne Marsh. Jim is survived by three brothers, Jesse F. (Mary Louise) Marsh, of Pinole, Calif., Samuel A. (Patricia) Marsh, of Ligonier, and Daniel G. (Bernadeth) Marsh, of Derry; his uncle, Eugene Boring, of Mt. Ephrim, N.J.; several stepchildren; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jim loved his grandchildren and his many nephews and nieces. He also loved sports, especially the Steelers and the Pirates. He also loved his dog, Oden, who was by his side until the end. A memorial service was held in South Carolina on Feb. 11, 2017.
