Byron Center, Michigan - James Kuipers, age 86, was called to his heavenly home on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed his morning coffee break with his friends. Preceding him in death are his brothers, Alfred (Fanna) Kuipers, John (Jeanette) Kuipers, Nelson Kuipers, Peter Kuipers, Harold Kuipers; his sister, Stena Warsen; brothers-in-law, John Warsen, Rich Gruessing, Richard Euwema, Case Koetje, Adrian VanderHeide; sister-in-law, Carol Kuipers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, William (Nellie) Dykgraaf, Everett (Winifred) Dykgraaf, Bub (Hattie) Dykgraaf, Lawrence (Jo) Dykgraaf, Caroline (Ed) Fredricks. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 66 years, Harriet; his children, Douglas (Sheila) Kuipers, Cheryl (Douglas) Hulst, Gregory (Tammy) Kuipers; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jeannette Koetje, Agnes Euwema; brother, Donald Kuipers; sisters-in-law, Harriet Kuipers, Nora Mae Kuipers, Gladys Kuipers, Grace Warsen; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm at Stroo Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, April 20, at Cutlerville East Christian Reformed Church, 501 68th St. SE, with Rev. Bill Renkema officiating. There will be an hour of visitation prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Winchester Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Cutlerville East CRC or Faith Hospice Trillium Woods.
