James F. "Jim" Keller
James F. "Jim" Keller, 84, of Maywood, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at Hannibal Regional Hospital. Mr. Keller was born April 3, 1932, in Taylor, to James W. and Mary Francis Elizabeth Foreman Keller. He was married to Janet O. Pyse on Aug. 19, 1961, at First Baptist Church in Palmyra. She survives of the home. Mr. Keller was a graduate of Philadelphia High School. After graduation, he entered the military and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War. Jim worked for Gardner Denver Co., retiring after 42 years of service. A farm boy at heart, he was formerly a dairy producer as well as raising hogs. He was a Southern Baptist and member of Emerson Baptist Church. He was also a member of Norfolk-Smith VFW Post 11041, Boots-Dickson American Legion Post 174 and the Gardner Denver Quarter Century Club. He loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals, boxing and Fox News on television and Massey Ferguson tractors. Jim loved his country, and was a devoted patriot. Other survivors include sons, Brad (Debbie) Keller of Lake St. Louis, Todd Keller of Maywood and Scott Keller of Palmyra; grandchildren, James "Austin" Keller of Lake St. Louis and Shae Nicole Keller of Lake St. Louis; brother, Donnie Keller of Maywood; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy O'Bryan; and a brother, Howard Keller. SERVICES: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra with the Rev. Roger Stevens conducting. Burial, with military honors, will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. Pallbearers will be Brad Keller, Todd Keller, Scott Keller, Austin Keller, Travis Keller and C.B. Keller. VISITATION: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. MEMORIALS: Norfolk-Smith VFW Post 11041, Boots-Dickson American Legion Post 174 or the donor's choice.
