Jordan, James R. TROY James "Jake" R. Jordan, 81, surrounded by his loving family at St. Peter's Hospital, Jake was reunited in Heaven with the love of his life, Joyce A. (Conway) Jordan and beloved daughter, Kristi, on Monday, April 17, 2017. James was born in Green Island and was the son of the late William and Lillian (Hayner) Jordan. James was a graduate of Heatley High School where he was a multiple sport athlete. After graduating, he entered the workforce at Williams Press, Bendix and U.S. Bard, where he retired. Jake's greatest joy in life was his high school sweetheart, Joyce. They met in the five and dime, married in 1956, and spent 57 years together. They lived most of their married life in Troy and then retired to Oak Hill, where he continued his passion for fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. Jake is survived by his daughters, Kellie (Samuel) Chiappone and Kerry Jordan Vumbaco; son-in-law, Rich Kosarovich; and his grandchildren, Samuel (Michelle) Chiappone, Jessica (Nicholas) Parenteau, Joshua (Kathryn) Chiappone, Conway and Kateri Vumbaco; and his great-grandchildren, Filomena and Samuel Chiappone. Jake is also survived by his sisters, Doris (Sis) Griffin and Lois Conlen; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jordan, and several nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his loving beagle, Ruby. He was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Kristi; and brother, William. The funeral procession for Jake will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Friday from the Bocketti Funeral Home, 336 3rd St., Troy to the Chapel + Cultural Center, 2125 Burdett Ave., Troy where a funeral Mass honoring James' life will be celebrated by Reverend Edward Kacerguis. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call on Thursday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jake's memory would be appreciated and may be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
