STANLEY - James "Jim" Donald Jackson Sr., 71, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016. He was born in Pitt County, son of the late Elbert and Nannie Stox Jackson. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Stanley and attended Sabbath Home Baptist Church in Holden Beach. He was an avid fisherman and was known as the "trout man." He was the retired owner of Arrowhead Electric Company in Stanley. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Jeanette Jackson; three children Don Jackson and wife Stephine of Gastonia, Julie Spivey and husband Don of Mint Hill, and Karen Nichols and husband Bob of Lincolnton; a brother Harold Jackson and wife Joyce of Mount Holly; five grandchildren Tisha Jackson, Ciara Williams, Stephen Jackson, Tayler Nichols and Petey Nichols; five great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law Linda Ormond. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jackson will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016 at the Jackson Family Cemetery in Grifton, N.C. The family will have a visitation for friends and family Friday Oct. 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly.
