JAMES RICHARD HERENDEEN
JAMES RICHARD HERENDEEN, 86, of rural Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Parkview Hospital. Born June 24, 1930, he was a son of James Earl and Alberta (Foster) Heren deen. On Aug. 27, 1950, he was married in Albion to Dortha Rimmel. Jim retired from Dana Corp, Fort Wayne, in 1985 after 30 years. He attended Goodnews Baptist Church, Churubusco. He loved to fish, camp, and be outside. James is survived by his wife, Dortha Herendeen; sons, Richard (Cathy) Herendeen and Clay (Gerry) Herendeen; sisters, Mildred Black, Beverly (Don) Felger, Shirly (Curt) Link, and Reta (John) Radke; granddaughters, Amy (Jason) Kill, Heather (Brian) Patten, and Rachealle Ray; a step-granddaughter; a step-grandson; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Herenden and Alberta Marshall; and a brother, Frank Herendeen. Service is 10 a.m. Thursday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Tim Grable officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeal home. Burial will follow service at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Noble County.
