James Edward HEINTZ
HEINTZ, James Edward (Age 90) Jim was born on July 20, 1926 in Rudyard, Montana to Carl and Margaret Heintz. Jim was one of 9 children (8 boys and 1 girl), and grew up working on his parents farm. At the age of 18 he was drafted into the Army and fought in WWII with the 77th Infantry in Okinawa, Japan, where he earned a battlefield commission to a 2nd Lieutenant. He then came home and earned his GED and went on to college on the GI Bill and received a degree in teaching. He worked as a Geometry teacher at Chinook High School for four years. During the summers he would work extra as a crop insurance adjuster, and found working with insurance his true calling. He worked for Continental Insurance in Spokane until he retired. During his time in Spokane he met the love of his life Leora Heintz (nÃ©e Hungerford). They were then married on October 25, 1958 and are survived by their three children. Daughter Leanne and son-in-law Chris, two grandsons, Christopher, wife Danielle and great-grandson Colton. Grandson Craig, wife Rachel and great-grandson Hunter. His oldest son Merlin, wife Kristin and granddaughters Sarah, Sindy and Caitlynn. His youngest son Jay, granddaughter Sarah Belle and grandson Curtis. There will be a Full Military graveside service held Friday, October 14, 2016 at 12:30pm at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224.
