James E. Fleming
Funeral services for James E. Fleming, 87, of Oxford, will be today at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Dr. Jerry Cobb will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from noon until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Fleming passed away on Friday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his daughters, Nena Fleming Stokes (Allen), Gina Fleming Anderson (Brian); grandchildren, Kevin Anderson, Kristen Stokes, Kyle Anderson, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Fleming was a native of Etowah County, but had lived in Oxford for past 58 years. Mr. Fleming was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and was a former member and active Deacon of Blue Springs Baptist Church for over 30 years, where he held many church offices. Mr. Fleming retired from Anniston Army Depot with 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. Mr. Fleming was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce H. Fleming, parents, Charlie and Pat Fleming.
