James L. Fennessey
James L. Fennessey, 86, son of James Oscar Fennessey and Evelyn Sophia Sands, passed away Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, in Friendswood, Texas. Jim was born July 3, 1930, in Labadie, and was a longtime resident of Labadie until he moved to Brookdale Facility, Friendswood, Texas, in March 2016. Two of his daughters live within minutes of this location. He entered into marriage to Donna D. Dawson on Nov. 22, 1952, in Pocahontas, Ark. Jim was a member of Local Operators Union 513 for many years and worked for many contractors over those years. One of Jim's biggest projects at home was building a pond that he could fish from any time he wanted. He also loved to fish the Missouri River, fishing for anything that would make a good fish fry. His survivors are Donna Sue Gale, Villa Ridge, Debbie and Dr. Howard Boland, Linda Venegas and husband Santos, all of Friendswood, Texas, and Dean Fennessey, Labadie; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Richard Fennessey and Eulalia, Springville, Ind., Marvin Fennessey and Eva, Bland, Daniel Fennessey and Janet, Hardinsburg, Ind., and Jerry Fennessey and Pat, LaCombe, La.; one sister, Bonnie Calvin, currently in residence at Pacific Care Center; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna; one son, Glenn; and two sisters, Mary Oberhaus and his twin, and Bessie Berger. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, at 2 p.m. at Labadie Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rolando Quiroz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Labadie Methodist Church or Bethel Cemetery of Labadie.
