James 'Jim' Joseph DeNivo, 73 Beloved husband, father and grandfather James "Jim" Joseph DeNivo of Oakwood, Staten Island, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016. Jim was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was the devoted husband to Ann (nee LoDuca) for 45 years, who he proposed to by asking, "What are you doing for the rest of your life?" He served in both the United States Navy and Naval Reserve until his honorable discharge in 1972. Jim was an avid baseball fan, having been invited to try out for the Philadelphia Phillies, despite being a Mets fan. He had a tremendous sense of humor, always making those around him laugh. He was a huge movie fan, who enjoyed all types of films, especially anything starring Steve McQueen. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Ann; his sons, Joseph and Robert, daughters-in-law, Athena and Lisa, and his beloved grandsons, Tyler, Ryan, Jack, and Connor.
