James Martin Cleavenger Ventura, CA James Martin Cleavenger on born on October 19, 1993 at Community Memorial Hospital. James was born with special needs and was not expected to walk or talk. He surpassed all expectations when at age 4, as part of his physical therapy, he began lap swimming and beach walks. As he progressed physically, he also progressed mentally. This led to tandem bike riding, jet skiing, gymnastics, gym workouts, lap swimming and dune buggy trips. As a teenager, he played AYSO basketball and soccer, which was helpful for his physical development and social skills. He was a trooper in every situation. He graduated at 18 from Oxnard High School, then continued a special program in Ojai and graduated at 22. James enjoyed musicals, was quick to laugh and was always making jokes and wanting to make people smile. He loved food and was known to eat very well. He had a kind heart and anyone that came into contact with him, loved him immediately. His smile was warm and his heart was open.
