Jacqueline Loraine Munger Fitzner was born on July 20, 1924 in St. Johns, Clinton Co. Michigan. She was the 3rd child of Gladys and Rollie Munger. Growing up in St. Johns she graduated from Rodney B. Wilson HS in 1943. WWII greatly influenced Jackie to join the Navy Waves in 1944 setting off on an adventure of her life. She completed boot camp in Chicago and New York City. She served her country proudly for 6 years, meeting her soon to be husband Lyonel Lewis Fitzner while stationed in Philadelphia, PA. The two were married On November 10, 1950. After living in Tokyo, Japan for 4 years they returned to the USA. In 1959 they moved to Florida eventually establishing roots in Jacksonville in 1960. Lyonel retired from the Navy after 25 years in Jacksonville. There they raised their daughters and Lyonel started in a new career in banking. Jackie became a successful Avon Representative and won several awards for her high sales and unique selling style. Jackie's outgoing personality; successful organizational skills and love for talk made her a skillful and liked leader in all she attempted. She was very involved in her daughters activities including Girl Scouts, Dance classes, Swim team, choir and the church was much appreciated by the community. She also loved sharing in her husband's passion of travel, fishing and camping all over the United States. After Lyonel's retirement they moved to Lake Lanier in north Ga. to be close to their girls and their grandchildren. When they weren't entertaining and spoiling their 4 grandchildren they were traveling the all over the USA and several overseas countries.
