Jack Tilley
Jack F. Tilley departed this life on Aug. 14, 2017, after a long illness. Mr. Tilley was assigned to White Sands Missile Range in 1962. While serving in the US Army. After seeing the shimmering lights of Las Cruces at night from St. Augustin Pass, he decided to send for his family, then spent the rest of his life here. He was born July 26, 1930, in Franklin, NC, and after his first of duty with the Army, he graduated from Western Carolina University. He enlisted in the Army again and served honorably as a member of the Army Security Agency in Korea. After his discharge, he worked for various aerospace companies at WSMR, in the Philippines, and on the Atlantic Test Range. He retired from PSL at NMSU in 1999. Mr. Tilley was preceded in death by his first wife Betty, and his sister Virginia of Inman, SC. He is survived by his second wife Janet Vasiliadis Tilley; a daughter Deborah Ramsey and her husband Ty of Plano, TX; and a son Larry Tilley of Franklin, NC; as well as three grandchildren, Clint Ziehl of Lake Jackson, TX; Chryssy Lamb Johnson of San Antonio, TX; and Bryan Lamb of Williamsburg, VA; 3 great grandchildren, and three nieces and two nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Glick for his excellent care of Jack through many years. At his request burial has taken place at Hillcrest Memorial Garden. No services are planned.
