Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Jack A. Morgan Jr., 78, Glencoe, who passed from this life Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, surrounded by his family. The Rev. Daryl Randolph will officiate. Burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery is in charge of the services. Jack was born in Etowah County on May 3, 1938, to the late Jack & Virginia Morgan. He was a 1956 graduate of Gadsden High School and attended GSCC and University of Alabama. He was a Veteran of the US Navy. Jack retired from Alabama Power Co. after 38 years of service, where he served as a former treasurer of IBEW local 391. After retirement, he was active in "The APCO Energizers." He was an active member of East Gadsden Church of the Nazarene, where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, senior adult teacher for many years and traveled with "work and witness" team to Ecuador. His passion for Christ was portrayed through singing gospel music. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy Cobb Morgan; children, Barry Morgan, Felicia (Jess) Taylor, Gadsden, Twyla (Francis Good) Snyder, Nevada; grandchildren, Justin (Wajdan) Taylor, Lyndsey (Jason) Turley, and Jeremiah Morgan, Gadsden, Caitlyn, Kasey, and Jake Snyder, Nevada; four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; sister, Evelyn Unger; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to Kristi Graham, Widge Taylor and Joe Cobb for always being available and to Casey Roberts and Jennie Graham of Alacare Hospice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Gadsden Church of the Nazarene. To our church family, the prayers, visits, cards and meals showed how much Jack was loved.
