Jack Anthony DeFranco AGE: 89 • Brick Jack Anthony DeFranco passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at Ocean Medical Center at the age of 89. He was the son of Russell and Amalia (Molly) DeFranco, born on February 5, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY. Jack was raised in Highland Park, NJ, had lived in East Brunswick and Point Pleasant, prior to moving to Brick in 2004. He survived his beloved wife, Elizabeth Louise, who died on December 19, 1972 at the age of 44. He is survived by his second wife, Constance, son Russell DeFranco, daughter and son in law, Debra and Richard Zaraza, grandchildren Louise, Lisa, Jack, Nicholas, and Natalie and great-grandchildren Vincent, Gracie and Olivia. Also surviving are stepdaughters Paula DeMarco, Doreen DeLaurier, Donna Edwards and Tina Rosato and their families. At 17, Jack joined the US Navy and served on the USS Tortuga in the Pacific. Upon return he worked in the transportation industry. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed. Visiting hours are Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4 pm - 8 pm and Wednesday from 8:30 am - 9:15 am at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am on Wednesday at St. Martha's RC Church, Pt. Pleasant, followed by entombment at Lake Nelson Cemetery in Piscataway.
