ISABELLE EMMA CAROLINE NEUMAN Mueller's Tri-Cities Funeral Home Isabelle Neuman (90) went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2017. Isabelle (Isie) was born Isabelle Weiser on December 23, 1926 to Christel and Ewald Weiser in Vernon, Texas. She grew up helping on the family cotton farm before pursuing under-graduate education at Concordia College in Seward, Nebraska to train as a teacher. She also had a beautiful singing voice and was a sought-after soloist for friends' weddings. Isie began her forty-year teaching career in Lutheran schools in Waco, Nebraska, Vernon, Texas and Corpus Christi, Texas, and then moved to Kennewick in 1952 to teach at Bethlehem Lutheran School. She met her husband Robert Neuman as a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran community and they were married in 1953. Isie then taught in the Pasco School District for several years, and then for many years in the Kennewick School District. She touched many lives during her 40-year career. Isabelle also remained a great appreciator of music, and encouraged all of her children to pursue instrumental training; all three of her daughters went on to become church organists. Isabelle and Bob also enjoyed several decades of happy retirement, and traveled far and wide with their motorhome group. Isie was a dedicated and generous host, and an accomplished cook; her fried chicken remains legendary among her children. Isie had a hilarious knack for winning at board games, and had a sly, wry sense of humor. Her generosity and love for her family will be surely missed. Isie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert, and by children Mary Neuman, Carl (Jennifer Tate), and Julie (Tom) Gesicki, and son-in-law Keith Newell; grandchildren Lydia Newell, Theodore (Kate) Newell, Kira Neuman, Sam Gesicki, Joel Gesicki; and great-grandson Asher Newell. She was preceded in death by daughter Janice Newell. A memorial service for Isabelle will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 1 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Kennewick. Memorial donations can be designated to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to the Union Gospel Mission. The family invites you to sign their online tribute wall at www.muellersfuneral homes.com .
