Irma Cooper OLTON-Irma Cooper, 73, of Olton, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Main Street Church of Christ in Olton with Mr. Brad Wangerin and Mr. Joe Carrasco officiating. Interment will follow in Springlake Cemetery in Springlake under the direction of Ramage Funeral Directors of Olton. The family will receive friends at Ramage Funeral Directors from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016. Irma Colleene Cooper was born June 14, 1943, in Amherst, Texas, to Herman and Nova (Kerrick) Cooper. She attended school in Olton and later graduated from Springlake High School in 1961. During school, Irma was salutatorian in the eighth grade as well as her senior class. In 1961, she began working for Pioneer Natural Gas Co, later Energas, in the offices in Earth, Olton, and Springlake until retiring after 36 years. She was a past member of the Olton Volunteer Ambulance Assoc. serving as a home dispatcher for over seven years. She enjoyed being a member of the Monday night Bunco Group. Baptized into Christ in 1956, Irma was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Kym Phillips in 2012; and her brothers, Bud in 2013 and James in 2014. Survivors include her sister and best friend, Janet Cooper of Olton; two nephews, Kerry Cooper and wife, Gail of Mesa, AZ and Kyle Cooper and wife, Diane of Oklahoma; four nieces, Jamie Niswander and husband, Jeff of Johannesburg, MI, Nova Brzozowski and husband, Bill, Sally Cooper, and Sharon Cocco, all of Houston; and an uncle, Louie Kerrick of Brownwood, Texas.
