Irene Kevorkian was born in Chandler, OK, on July 23, 1930 to Gay and Bertha Forrest. Irene Kevorkian was a kind, elegant and beautiful lady. She passed away on December 21, 2016, and is reâ€united with her husband in heaven of nearly 50 years, Aram "Korky" Kevorkian. Irene lived in Oklahoma and Arizona before moving to Reedley, CA, with her family at the age of 15. She was fifth in a line of eight children, and knew the value of a close family. Irene worked as a waitress at Walt and Mary Gerawan's Sun King Restaurant in Reedley, where she met her soon to be husband Korky. They were a royal couple, having been voted King and Queen of Reedley in 1978 and 1979. She devoted her life to being a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. Her passions were gardening, entertaining, attending grandkids sporting events, trips to the central coast and ice cream. Irene will be deeply missed. "You will long be missed and forever loved. To you O' Lord, I lift up my soul, in you I trust, O' my God." Psalm 25:1 She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lloyd, Ethmer and Dean Forrest, and sister, Nadine Forrest. She is survived by her son, Steven and his wife Lily of Chino Valley, AZ; daughter, Shellee of Fresno; son, Dan and his wife Shawna of Fresno; six grandsons, Aram and his wife Melissa of Hanford, CA, John, Nick, Daniel, Stevie and Neil; a granddaughter Anna; two great-grandsons, Kody and Kason; a great-granddaughter Katie; three sisters, Hazel Nance of Reedley, Lucille Reitz and her husband Richard of Fresno, and Barbara Harman and her husband Sydney of Reedley; nieces; nephews; and their families. We are thankful for the Palm Village staff that provided many years of attentive and compassionate care for Irene. A Memorial Service to celebrate Irene's life will be held in the chapel at Palm Village Retirement Home in Reedley, CA, on Saturday, January 21, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. The family requests that remembrances be sent to Palm Village Retirement Home at 701 Herbert Avenue, Reedley, CA 93654.
