Mrs. Inez Lavone (Myers Dortch) Burns - SAVANNAH - Mrs. Inez Burns died Sunday, January 8, 2017, at Memorial Health University Medical Center after a short illness. She was a member of First Metropolitan Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess Board. She also sang in the senior choir. She was an original lead singer with the original Gospel Chime Singers of Savannah, GA. She was a member of the Shirley Caesar Workshop of America. She was in the Nursing Serving at Chatham Nursing Home until her health failed. She was also a member of the Sidney A. Jones Choir, a member of the Naioma Chapter #31 order of Eastern Stars. Surviving is her loving husband, Rev. Dr. Rufus H. Burns, a loving, devoted, and caring son, Mr. Rodney J. (Katina) Myers; four grandchildren, Mr. Rakeem Myers, Miss Raquel Myers, Miss Rahnya J. Myers, and Miss Briana Myers; four stepsons, Mr. Ray Burns, Mr. Karl (Elaine) Burns, Mr. Leo (Cathy) Burns, and Mr. Ricky (Cathy) Burns, all of Savannah, GA; one stepdaughter, Ms. Doreatha Williams of Savannah, GA; two brothers, Mr. Larry (Beza) Myers and Mr. Clarance T. (Melissa) Myers; three brothers that preceded her in death, Mr. Estine Myers, Mr. Curtis Lee Myers, and Mr. Clement Myers; four sisters, Mrs. Deborah (Edward) Powell, Ms. Valarie Randolph, Ms. Leola Myers of Jacksonville, FL, and Ms. Thelma Chandler of Philadelphia, PA; four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Deloris Myers, Mrs. Sheila Myers, Mrs. Elizabeth Brown, and Ms. Louise Miles, all of Savannah, GA; one brother-in-law, Mr. Kenneth (Cassandra) Burns; five aunts, two uncles, four great aunts, Godsons, Mr. Derrick Hays, Mr. Sherman Coleman, Mr. Terrence Bush, Rev. Ronald Anderson, Jr., Mr. John Willie Smith, Mr. Abraham Manigo, Mr. Anthony Thomas; Goddaughters, Ms. Rena Anderson, Ms. Kira Royal; four spiritual sisters, Roslyn Seymore, Evangelist Roslyn Anderson, Ms. Fay Dudley, and Shirley Williams; spiritual daughter, Elaine Fields; spiritual mother, Mrs. Winfred Jones and Mrs. Vernell White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017 at First Metropolitan Baptist Church 307 E. 37th Street Savannah, GA. Rev.
