FAULKNER, Howell Cobb of Sun City Center, FL passed away peacefully October 2, 2016 at the age of 98. He was born in Quitman, GA to Logan and Annie Faulkner January 15, 1918. Known to his family as Cobb, they moved to Plant City, FL in a covered wagon when he was five years old. At the age of 15, he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps and graduated from Turkey Creek High School in 1937. Turkey Creek was a "strawberry school" whose academic calendar was based on the strawberry harvest. He served in WWII from 1940 to 1945 in the Army Air Corps as a radio operator flying to India, South America and Burma. After the war, he met and married Kathryn Tillma in 1945. They would eventually move to Eau Claire, MI where Whirlpool Corp. in Benton Harbor employed him until he retired in 1983. Howell was preceded in death by Kathryn in 2003 after 57 years of marriage; his parents; seven siblings, Webb, Virginia (Bennett), Clayton, Thaddeus, Farris, Fain and Katherine. He leaves behind two children, James of Foster City, MI and Diane (Douglas) Cerretti of Shoreline, WA; grandchildren, Alistair, Nicholas and Kyle Cerretti, Lauren (Luke) Seaburg, Jason Faulkner and Sherri Brandt; great-grandchildren, Hudson, Hazel and Jacob Cerretti, Taylor Seaburg, Alli and Jake Brandt and Bailee (Stephen) Szpiech. Howell will be buried with his wife, Kathryn in Castlewood, SD.
