Hilda Triny Barela, 61, of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, in Farmington. She was born Jan. 2, 1955, to Robert Stallings and Cecilia Gonzales in Farmington. Hilda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was married to the love of her life Leonard Barela for 42 years and together they ran a trucking business for over 40 years. They had three children Anthony Stallings, and Monica (Sammy) Armenta and Leonard Jr. She has 12 grandchildren that were the love and light of her life. Hilda is also survived by her stepmother, Henrietta Chavez, who played an important role in her life. She will be dearly missed by all of us, including her brothers, sisters, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. Hilda was loved and cherished by everyone that met her. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone into her home like they were family. A rosary will be recited by the Legion of Mary at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2100 E. 20th St. in Farmington. A mass of Christian burial for Hilda will be at 11a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22 at St. Mary's with Father Frank Chacon as celebrant and burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6917 East Main St. in Farmington.
