Herbert M. Caffee, Jr. Chesapeake - Herbert Malcolm "Mac" Caffee, Jr., 89, passed away April 12, 2017, in his home. Mac grew up in the Glenrock area of Norfolk and resided in Chesapeake with his loving wife of 65 years, Earlene. He was a member of St. Mathew Catholic Church for 50 years. He retired from Dominion Power Company (formerly VEPCO) after 40 years as a Combination Serviceman. He enjoyed having a garden and planting flowers with his 4 year old great-granddaughter, Taylor, whom he adored and called his "garden buddy." Mac also loved to cook, took pride in his garden, was proud to have served his country in the U. S. Army and was always whistling a tune. Left to cherish his memory: his wife of 65 years, Earlene Caffee; a daughter, Ann C. Boyce and husband, Kenny; two sons, Herbert M. "Bubba" Caffee, III, and John Edward Caffee; grandchildren, Travis and wife, Wendy, Heather and Logan; and a great-granddaughter, Taylor Rae Boyce. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 9 to 10 a.m. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mac's honor to the American Cancer Society.
