Henry Mooney AGE: 76 • North Brunswick Henry (Hank) Mooney, 76, passed away on Friday, February 10, at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ. Mr. Mooney was born December 18, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Thomas and Anna (Perhach) Mooney. He was raised in Manville before settling in North Brunswick with his family. Hank did mechanical engineering work as a draftsman for David Standard, formally knows as John Brown and Egan Machinery in Somerville, NJ. He served in the United States Air Force following the Korean War from 1958 to 1964 having earned the rank Airman First Class. Mr. Mooney was an active member of North Brunswick Soccer Club, coaching for 18 years and also served as a club President. He started North Brunswick's first girls travel soccer team. In his later years, he volunteered his time at the JFK Rehab unit in Edison. Hank was a handyman and loved to "tinker", especially with cars. He also had a passion for soccer; but most of all he cherished spending time with his four grandchildren. Hank is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Mooney (DeGar) of North Brunswick; his daughters, Donna and her husband Brian Mannas of Warrington, PA and Teri Mooney and her significant other, Greg of Philadelphia, PA; his brother, Edward and his wife Gerry Mooney of Colorado; his sisters, Paula and her husband Joseph Millus of PA and Connie and her husband Carl Evans of PA; his grandchildren, Sierra, Mitchell, Jack and Charlie and many nieces, nephews and friends. Family and friends may gather for viewing at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, NJ 08873 on Wednesday, February, 15th from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, February, 16th from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
