Henderson Louden Jr.
NINETY SIX — Henderson Louden Jr., 64, affectionately known as "Butterball" and "Coach Louden," the son of the late Reverend Henderson Louden Sr. and the late Johnnie Mae Brooks Louden, departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at Lexington Medical Center. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. To know him was to love him, he was a friend to all. Mr. Louden was a graduate of Edgewood High School and a S.C. State University alumni. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant AME Church in Ninety Six, S.C., where he served as a steward, trustee and class leader. He retired from Greenwood School District 52 after 41 years where he held various positions, as a teacher, coach and most recent as the Director of Transportation. He loved sports and was a Football and Basketball Official for the South Carolina High School League in Columbia, S.C., for 30 years. During his tenure, he led his track team to a State Championship and was Conference Coach of the Year. He was inducted in to the Ninety Six Hall of Fame in 2013. Coach Louden was an inspiration and mentor to many. Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious loving memories are his devoted wife, Lou Louden of Newberry, S.C.; children, Carletha (Travis) Williams of Greenwood, S.C., Charlene Louden of Greenwood, S.C., Lakicha Louden of Columbia, S.C., Jeffrey Louden of Manning, S.C., Stacie and Engride Coleman of Newberry, S.C., and Jennifer Coleman Booker (Dexter) of Silverstreet, S.C.; grandchildren, Dante Pride, Ja'Quon Louden, Cameron "CJ" White, Deitra White, and Joshua White of Ninety Six, S.C., and Khalique and Jahliah Coleman-Eigner of Newberry, S.C.; great-grandchild, Jeremih Wallace; brothers, Coris (Lynn) and Darnell (Marvette) Louden of Ninety Six, S.C., cherished uncles, aunts, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, a mother-in-law, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at The PLEAD Center at Mt. Zion AME Church, 122 New Zion Road, Bradley, SC 29819.
