In memory of
Helen Marie Simon
Helen Marie Simon November 22, 1931 - January 08, 2017 Visalia Helen Marie Simon went home to be with her Savior on January 8, 2017 at the age of 85. She was born on November 22, 1931 to Gene and Alta Fleeman in Fairplay, Missouri. Their family moved to Exeter, CA when she was a child. Helen graduated from Exeter Union High School in 1949. She married Robert Simon on November 21, 1953. They had a daughter, Terri, and 2 ½ years later their son, Robert Jr. was born. Helen was a stay at home mom. She loved bowling, in fact one year she was on 3 different teams. She enjoyed family vacations to Lake Tahoe and amusement parks. She loved going to her grandkids soccer games, choir performances and other activities. She also enjoyed trips with family and friends, bus trips with the Italian Lodge, birthday parties, Simon family get-togethers and monthly dinners, and breakfasts with her classmates. Each week she looked forward to her Friday lunch with her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter and was happy to point out that there were four generations together! She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert. Also preceded in death her parents, Gene and Alta Fleeman, and sisters Barbara Fleeman and Ruby King. She is survived by her brother John Fleeman: daughter Terri and Mike Buford; son Robert and Ludevina Simon; 4 grandchildren, Trisha and Eric Sapien, Mike Buford Jr. and fiancée Malaine Garrison, Nick and Katrina Simon, and Ashley Simon; 5 great-grandchildren, Reece, Carson, and Olivia Sapien, and Ayden and Emma Simon; and numerous brothers and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. We thank Kaweah Delta Hospital and Lindsay Gardens Nursing Home for their wonderful care for our mom and grandma. Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Chapel Visalia, 11720 Ave. 264, Visalia at 2pm on Monday, January 16, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Chapel Visalia.
