Helen Sharp Knoxville, TN Helen Virginia Saylor Sharp, age 99, of Knoxville, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab. Helen was a lifelong member of Fairmont Presbyterian Church, active in Women's work; active in various social organizations in Knoxville; loved being grand-and great-grandmother; hiking in the Smokey Mountains, and traveling with her "Walking" Friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward O. Sharp; parents, Hugh T. Saylor and Glennie LaRue Saylor; grandson, Marcos E. Lopez; step-mother, Pauline Duke Saylor. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John and Diane Sharp, Hu-Ed Sharp and Rebecca Ward; daughter, Carole Lopez; grandchildren, Beth Sharp, Debbie Sharp, Eric D. Lopez, of Tampa, FL; Brock and Cole's mother, Mary Kathryn Lopez, Brooke and Shane Black, and Shelly and Rob Bearden; great-grandchildren, Alex Sharp, Trish Allen, Electra Young, Cayden Black, Brooks Bearden, Fisher Bearden, Charlie Bearden, Brock Lopez, Cole Lopez, of Tampa FL; and several great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special appreciation to her caregivers at Beverly Park Place. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m., with Rev. Robert Cook and Rev. Charles M. Mills officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. Monday, January 16, 2017, at Greenwood Cemetery, for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
