HELEN EALES ELMHURST, ILLINOIS — Helen Ann Eales (Lippoldt), 83, formerly of Alton, Illinois, died at 8:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst. She was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Alton, the daughter of Otto and Sophia (Bierbaum) Lippoldt. She was a 1951 graduate of Alton High School and a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ. She was a secretary for Owens Illinois, a stay at home mother while raising her children, and later an office manager for the Godfrey Utility Board until she retired. On Feb. 25, 1955, in Alton, she married Charles Elza Eales who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Cathia "Cathy" Kimball. Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia "Cindy" Fields and her husband Tim of Westfield, Indiana, and Christina "Christy" Soldano and her husband Frank of Elmhurst, and eight grandchildren: Megan Fields, Ashley Fields, Paige Fields, Benjamin Kimball, Nicholas Soldano, Anna Kimball, Annalise Soldano and Francesca Soldano, one son-in-law, Mike Kimball of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, one sister; Dorothy Gerdt and her husband Alfred of Godfrey, Illinois, and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday Jan. 16, 2017 at Gent Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry MeCaskey officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
