Cowpens, S.C. - Helen Jolly Cook, 91, of 257 Crenshaw Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at her residence. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late James Lafate Cook and daughter of the late Charlie Jeffery Jolly and Lillie Mode Jolly. She retired from textiles and was of the Baptist faith. She loved to dance, gardening and flowers. Surviving are a son, William "Billy" Cook and wife, Margie, of Gaffney; a sister, Christine Hammett of Cowpens; six grandchildren, Billy Cook and wife, Penny, Paulette Loudermilk and husband, Andy, Dianne Allen and husband, Bill, Tonya Cook, Dawn Anderson and Brian Cook and wife, Amy; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Paul Cook and Michael James Cook, a daughter, Emily Dianne Cook, a brother, Frank Jolly and four sisters, Dot Johnson, Ruby Fowler, Gladys Cook and Elsie Pettit. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Powell officiating. Interment will be in Cowpens City Cemetery.
