Robinson, Hedy Hedy Robinson of Milford, CT passed away peacefully on October 6, 2016 at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. Hedy (Jadwiga) was born in Nottingham, England on August 20, 1953 to loving parents Wincenty and Helena Knapczyk. The family immigrated to the United States in 1959. In addition to her parents, Hedy will be greatly missed by her devoted husband Rick Robinson; adoring daughter Jennifer Nash and her husband Jerry; loving step-son Richard Robinson and his wife Patti and step-son Christopher Robinson and his wife Aimee. Hedy is the treasured sister of Mary Skelly and husband Brian; Alicia Rominger and husband Carl and youngest sister Donna Kelly. Hedy is the proud and doting "Grammy" to Amelia and Trey and "Grandma" to Bianca, Miranda and Julie and great-granddaughter Mia. Family and friends were everything to Hedy. She connected the family across the globe from New Zealand to England and will be missed by many special cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends whom she considered family. She and Rick were the constant organizers of fun-filled, memorable family events such as elegant Christmas Eve dinners, the best Fourth of July parties, an annual family and friends softball game, frequent gatherings at her beloved Bayview Beach and many weekend getaways. When Hedy planned an event, it was always with love and careful attention and you knew it would be flawless. Hedy took pleasure in cherishing the moments with those she loved, whether it was watching a sunset, a meteor shower, fireworks at the beach or simply making her grandchildren laugh. Hedy was also a distinguished business woman at Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. She served as a Senior Manager Systems Analyst, joining the company in 1990. Her work led to great success, international travel and special relationships with colleagues at home and around the world. In December 2016, Hedy was diagnosed with PML, a rare brain infection. She bravely sought treatment at the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD under the care of a team of dedicated doctors. She was the first participant in a clinical trial designed to find a cure for this devastating disease. Hedy fought a courageous battle with dignity, unwavering spirit and hope. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Michael's Archangel Church, 310 Pulaski Street in Bridgeport, on October 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Hospital or a charity meaningful to you.
