Harvey Henning Jr., 89, of Wapakoneta, and had wintered in Florida for about the last 15 years, fell asleep at 12:42 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born on July 12, 1927, in Wyandotte, Mich., to the late Harvey and Louise Horn Henning Sr. He married Patricia Kohler, deceased, and married Theresa Lozon Franklin on April 28, 1979, who fell asleep on May 9, 2013. He is survived by a son - Dennis Duane Henning of Celina; by three daughters - Donna "Dee" (Larry) Street of St. Marys; Dianne (Daniel) Hoelscher of St. Marys; Debbie June Henning of St. Marys; by two stepchildren - David Franklin; Gary (Heidi) Franklin; Scott Franklin; Tammy Franklin; Steve Franklin; a stepdaughter-in-law - Debbie Franklin; by 23 grandchildren; by 36 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister - Martha Nagel of St. Marys. He was preceded in death by three brothers - Edwin Henning, William Henning, Herbert Henning; stepchildren - Ken Franklin, David Franklin, Debbie Franklin, Rob Franklin, Michael Franklin. Mr. Henning was a retired electrician and had worked at Bradley Farms in Canada. He was a World War II U. S. Navy veteran serving at Pearl Harbor. He was a member of the VFW Post 9289 and American Legion Post 232, both of St. Marys. He enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and loved "going saleing" (garage sales).
