Harvey L. Fournier
Harvey L. Fournier, retired Army Chief Warrant Officer, died Wednesday in Baystate Medical Center, has now joined his beloved wife Shirley M.R. (Dulude) Fournier who passed into eternal peace on July 29, 2009. Harvey, the son of the late Alfred and Beatrice (Boudreau) Fournier, was born and educated in Holyoke. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in Korea. He joined the Massachusetts Army National Guard and became a full-time Military Technician and continuously served his country in the military for 39 years. Harvey loved music and enjoyed playing his trombone as he marched in many parades throughout the United States and Canada and performed with several Community Concert Bands, including the Senior Concert Band of Western Massachusetts. Harvey is survived by his three sons; Bruce Fournier and his wife Lynne, Brian Fournier and Alan Fournier and his wife Wendy, two daughters; Carol Fournier and Gail Pikula and her husband Francis, three grandchildren; Eric Pikula and Jessica and Cassidy Fournier, two brothers; Gerald Fournier and his wife Lorraine and Charles Fournier and his wife Barbara, his sister Anna May Dion and her husband Denis. Harvey was also predeceased by his brothers; Adelard, Eugene, Donat, Alfred Jr. and Norman Fournier and his sisters; Doris Fournier, Marie Dussault, Emma Beaulieu, Georgette Nadeau and Beatrice Lepine. The funeral for Harvey will be Monday at 9:30 am from the Curran-O’Brien Funeral Home, 33 Lamb St., South Hadley followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Name of Jesus Church, Chicopee at 11 am and burial in St. Rose de Lima Cemetery, Aldenville.
