Harvey Lee Banks
TRENTON | Harvey Lee Banks, 77, went to be with his Savior on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017, surrounded by his family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Harvey was born to the late Willie S. and Mattie Pike Banks. He graduated from Jones Central High in 1957 and spent his life devoted to his family and farming. He retired from Murphy Brown, LLC in 2010. Harvey enjoyed boating, fishing, riding the golf cart and spending time with his family at the camper on the water. He loved tractors, mowing and gardening, cooking and spending time outdoors. In his later years, he loved listening to southern gospel music and watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries on the television. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Rae Banks. Harvey was blessed with a close-knit family and is survived by his wife of 59 years, Frances Farrior Banks; his two sons, Dennis Lee Banks and wife Donna Peele Banks, their child, Denise Banks Shearin; and four great-grandchildren, Dustin, Skylar, Laylah and Maleeah; and Harvey Lyndell (Lynn) Banks and wife Renae Eubanks Banks, and their children, Caroline and Collin, all of Trenton; and daughter, Kimberly Banks Sherry and her husband Scott Sherry, and their son, Nicholas of Richlands. Other survivors include his brothers, Marvin Banks and wife Linda, of Kinston, Cecil Banks and wife Rebecca, of Raleigh; his sister, Wilda Mae Banks of Vanceboro; and nephews, Kevin, Jerry and Freddie. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday evening, April 18, 2017, at Garner Funeral Home in Kinston and other times at his home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Tuckahoe Christian Church on Hwy. 41 West, Trenton with Pastors Jerry Banks, Roger Banks and Roger Noble officiating.
