Harry Richard Manley
Harry Richard Manley, 85, of Harrisburg and formerly of Steelton passed away peacefully on October 10, 2016 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center with his loving children by his side. Harry, also known as "Big City" lived with his daughter Mary Frances and Pam Neubaum until he became too ill. His health required care at Frey Village and later at the Lebanon VA Hospice. He was born on June 7, 1931 in Penbrook and was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Helen (Kintz) Manley. Harry is survived by three sons, John and Richard both of Steelton and Patrick and his wife Denise of Gettysburg; one daughter, Mary Frances of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Tiffany Land and Tracy Manley; four great-grandchildren. Harry was preceded in death by his brother John H. Manley. Harry served his country in the United States Army from October 1949 - July 1952; he also served in the United States Navy from October 1961 - October 1963. He was retired from the former Bethlehem Steel Company where he worked as a rigger. Harry was a member of American Legion, Moose International and was a lifetime member of Veteran of Foreign Wars and the Fifth Ward Republican Club. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the K.M. Knight Funeral Home, 31 Second Street, Highspire. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home. Inurnment will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
