WINNIPEG, Manitoba, Canada - Harold Leonard Schnare, 91, passed away March 9, 2017, at Meadowood Manor Personal Care Home, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Born in Outremont, Montreal, Quebec, Nov. 28, 1925, to Harold Charles and Hazel Ida Schnare, Len was raised in Ridgefield Park and Teaneck. After serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, Len studied at Purdue University and graduated from Rutgers University. He spent most of his career as a loan officer, retiring from First National Bank in Paterson in 1972. In 1951, Len married Marion Minion in Teaneck. They lived in Hackensack, where their two children were born. In 1960, they moved to Ogdensburg. In 1972, they and their daughter moved to Fort St. John, British Columbia, Canada, and eventually to Winnipeg in 2007. Len was predeceased by his wife, Marion, and his granddaughter, Autumn Melody Bowles. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey and his wife, Eileen, of Stockholm; his daughter, Pamela Bowles and her husband, Warren, of Winnipeg; his grandsons, Randy Bowles and his wife, Jamie, of Winnipeg; Eli Schnare, of Lafayette; Dustin Schnare, of Idaho Springs, Colo.; his granddaughter, Martha Schnare, of Stockholm; his great-granddaughters, Alexis Reeves, of Evergreen, Colo., and Kya Autumn Bowles, of Winnipeg. Cremation was private. A memorial service was held at the home of Randy and Jamie Bowles.
