Harold Edward Browner, 85, of East Ridge, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in a local facility. A lifelong resident of the Chattanooga area, Harold retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after 37 years of service and was a member of the Pioneers retirees group. His family was the love of his life. Harold served four years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of American Legion Post 95. He loved his bowling and bowled in several leagues at Holiday Bowling Lanes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Coleman Browner and Pauline Browner Dempsey. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Joyce Browner; children, Dale (Jerry) Browner, of Mississippi, Linda (Tim) Lawrence, of Virginia, Danny Fraley, of East Ridge and Debbie Metcalf, of Georgia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Bobby (Mary) Browner, of Chattanooga; sister, Patsy (Frank) Greenway, of Rossville, Ga.; several nephews and a niece. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road.
