Harley Sims, 91, passed away, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017. Funeral: 11 a.m. Monday at Greenwood-Arlington Chapel. Interment: 1:15 p.m. Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood-Arlington Chapel. Harley was born April 27, 1925 in Dardanelle, Ark. to Fannie and John Sims. He served with the U. S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He went to work for General Motors in Kansas City in 1952 and in 1954 moved to Arlington to work in the plant. He retired after 32 years as a materials handler. Harley was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bonnie Sims; a son, Michael D. Sims; and a brother, Johnny Sims. Survivors: Wife, Teresa Martinez Sims; daughters, Pamela D. Robinson and husband, David and Paula G. Dean and husband, Charles; step-daughter, Yvonne Squyres and husband, Orbey; grandchildren, Austin Lee Sims, Jennifer Squyres and and Nicholas Squyres; brothers, Arvil Sims, Alton Sims, Billy Sims, Cecil Sims and Leo Sims; and sisters, Lucille Smith and Bobbie Jean Denton; and many neighbors and close friends.
