Jul. 27, 1928 ~ Oct. 11, 2016 "Together Again" Hal E. Staten, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, 88, passed away on October 11, 2016. Born July 27, 1928 in Salt Lake City. Preceded by his wife Mary Jean Barrett Staten and one great grandson. Survived by his children Brent Staten wife Barbara, Karen Morgan husband Gerard Morgan, seven grandchildren, Shane Staten, Jeff Christensen, Chad Staten, Casey Staten, Mindy Morgan, Scott Morgan and Michelle Smith and 12 great grandchildren. Hal attended Granite High School, University of Utah and also served in the US Army. Hal spent 33 years as a Salt Lake City Police Officer earning the rank of Sargent. Hal spent the majority of his life helping others while setting a great standard as a father and friend. Hal and Mary loved their cabin and spent most of their available time there. The people that were close to Hal truly benefited by the example he shared with many. We want to thank and express our gratitude too Ken and Jane Babcock, Max and Cristin Ker. Also to his home health care nurse Rachelle Harris and the wonderful nurses at Care Source. Condolences can be made at a Viewing on, October 15, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary and Cemetery, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City. Following the viewing there will be a Funeral Service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a Graveside Service being held at 1:00 p.m. After the services there will be a small gathering for family and friends at the Mortuary. ...
