WORTHEN, Guy Lee 57, went peacefully to our Lord in his sleep at his Valrico home on February 9, 2017. Guy was born in Tampa, FL on November 26, 1959. He was an athletic youth that played baseball and football and was on the swim team for Brandon High School where he graduated in 1977. He married his high school sweetheart Lori Maroney on August 31, 1980 and had three beautiful children, Ryan, Mikayla and Jordan. He was a hard worker and made his career as an underwater welder owning his own business at the Tampa port. The oldest of a large family, Guy had kind and caring spirit and touched the hearts of all those around him. He was preceded in death by his father, John G. Worthen, Jr.; his son, Ryan Tyler Worthen, sister, Keegan Leanne Worthen and aunt, Pat Rodriguez. He is survived by his wife, Lori Worthen; two children, Mikayla and Jordan Worthen; his mother, Jane Worthen; his granddaughter, Ava Worthen, his 31 brothers and sisters, Leslie, Paul, Vince, Shelby, Dawn, Lindsey, Lainie, Morgan, Mallory, Carlie, Curtis, Collins, Alexis, Avery, Taylor, Brooke, Jaimie, Jensen, Madison, Emily, Jenna, Hayden, Cameron, Christian, Savannah, Matt, Sam, Gracie, Rosie, Isaiah and Emma and 25 nieces and nephews. A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, February 17, at Bell Shoals Baptist Church in Brandon, FL, friends and family gathering at 10 am, service to begin at 10:30. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to the Salvation Army Adult Rehab Program, 13815 Salvation Army Lane, Tampa, FL 33613.
