Gordon A. Cervo
Gordon A. Cervo El Mirage, AZ Gordon Alexander Cervo, a former resident of Ventura County, entered eternal rest on September 24, 2016 in Arizona. Gordon was born April 27, 1926 in Thendara, New York. He graduated from Saranac Lake High School in 1944 and entered into the Navy right away. After the service, he married his high school sweetheart Jane Nutter. Gordon graduated with an Engineering Degree from Clarkson College in Potsdam, NY in 1950 and was awarded Tau Beta Pi. He started his aerospace engineering career at Bendix, New York Air Brake and Lear. In 1962 he moved his family to Camarillo and began his 28 year career with Abex Aerospace in Oxnard. He transferred to Abex Japan in the mid 1980's and retired in 1990. Gordon started his retirement in Washington state, first living in Bellingham and later moved to Lopez Island. In 2003 he married Pat Wagness. After Pat passed in 2006 he spent his winters at Pueblo El Mirage Resort. After a couple years Gordon moved permanently to El Mirage and lived the remainder of his golden years there. Gordon enjoyed sailing, painting, boat building, spending time with family and friends and helping others. Gordon traveled to many countries while in the Navy, employed by Abex and during retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Irene, brothers James and Robert, sister Joyce Fay and son Gordon W. Gordon will be dearly missed by all especially his daughter Nancy Jenkins (Jeff); son Martin Cervo; granddaughters Julia Crocker (Tyler), Kimberly Jenkins, Trinity and Brittni Cervo; great grandsons Benjamin and Harrison Crocker; former wife Jane and dear friends Jeremy and Audrey. A Celebration of His Life was held at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ.
